Honouring of 'Do Not Track' Setting in Browsers

Honouring of 'Do Not Track' setting in browsers

When a viewer enables the 'Do Not Track' setting in their browsers, regardless of the platform or browser, the 'DNT=1' is added to the header of each HTTP/HTTPS request made. Now, Pulse honours this setting by removing any PII (personally identifiable information) from the ad requests and the viewer only receives non-personalised ads. This behavior is the same as when the viewer opts out for targeted ad delivery through the implementation of the IAB Consent Framework.

Note: This new way of handling the DNT header has significant implications for ad selection and tracking of unique impressions. See Ad selection implications of GDPR and 'Do Not Track' and Reporting implications of GDPR and 'Do Not Track' for clear information surrounding these implications.
