Target Any Break now only applies to mid-roll ad breaks
Target Any Mid-roll Ad Break
Previously, targeting ads to a certain break number applied to all linear ads (pre-, mid-, and post-roll ads). However, as it was recommended to only ever use the functionality for mid-roll ads, it has now been limited to only apply to mid-roll ads.
The change in functionality causes less confusion between the numbering of ad breaks in the ad request and the break restriction numbers entered on the goals. Now, restricting a goal to only deliver on ad break 2, means that the mid-roll ads part of the goal are only ever eligible when making the ad selection for the second mid-roll ad break within a session, whether or not a pre-roll ad break was also requested.
New Parameter for Mid-roll Break Number
A new parameter,
mbn, is available for direct VAST and VMAP
integrations to help you identify and override the number of the mid-roll ad break
targeted by the ad request, in order to request ads for a specific mid-roll ad
