Tag targeting updates in new Insertion Policy UI and API.

Tag targeting updates in new Insertion Policy UI and API

Previously, the tag targeting in the Insertion Policy only supported the at least one of rule, meaning that the targeting specified in the insertion policy had to match at least one of the tags coming in the ad request. Now, support for all of and none of rules has been added to the Insertion Policy UI and API.

In the Insertion Policy UI, you now see three tag rule options:

Tag targeting rule options in Insertion Policy UI

  • All of: Pulse picks the insertion policy if all of the tags specified here are included among the tags in the ad request.
  • At least one of: Pulse picks the insertion policy if at least one of the tags specified here is included among the tags in the ad request.
  • None of: Pulse picks the insertion policy if none of the tags specified here are included among the tags in the ad request.

When creating or updating an Insertion Policy through the API, pass in the following parameters in the tagRule object:

"tagRule": {
  "oneOf": [
    "<string>",
    "<string>"
  ],
  "allOf": [
    "<string>",
    "<string>"
  ],
  "noneOf": [
    "<string>",
    "<string>"
  ]
}

The tag targeting rules specified in the insertion policy need to match the t parameter sent in the ad request.
